Draft Policy CL26.189

You are currently viewing Draft Policy CL26.189

Shoalhaven City Council is proposing a new policy for selling Council land—but the draft removes the long-standing requirement for public consultation before any final decision.

For the past two years, consultation hasn’t happened at all, and communities across the Shoalhaven have been blindsided by land sale proposals. The draft new policy would lock this “no consultation” model in permanently.

The Vincentia Community Forum is asking Councillors to support CL26.189 (Rescission) and CL26.190 (Notice of Motion) so the draft policy can go to a public workshop before any changes are adopted.

We’re also asking Council to pause further land sales until the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee can review evidence of non-compliance with existing policy.

Public land is a public asset. The community deserves a say before it’s sold.
