The SGBCC General Meeting on the 3rd of August, 2025 saw the five resolutions all defeated with almost unanimous NO votes from the more than 800 members in attendance. This is an important result for two reasons. Firstly, it means the land associated with the Vincentia Golf Club remains core, so there can be no sell-off or development without members’ approval. Secondly, it means that our communities can move on from the upset and angst caused last year by the closure of the VGC course and clubhouse and the antagonistic SGBCC director elections. On May 30, JBCSC received a letter from SGBCC CEO Ben Clegg on behalf of the SGBCC Board demanding a "firm bid for de-amalgamation no later than 12pm Monday 23rd June 2025” On Friday June 20, JBCSC submitted a bid letter detailing a firm and fair offer, consistent with the unanimous SGBCC Board decision made in late December 2024, i.e., the bid has met SGBCC Board’s original position regarding de-amalgamation.
