Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan 2056 – Finalisation

The Vincentia Community Forum (VCF) has lodged a submission opposing the adoption of the Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan 2056 (CISP) for Vincentia and the Bay & Basin. The revised draft fails to provide an aspirational or future-focused vision for our community. Instead, it is driven by financial imperatives, proposes reclassifications that may reduce local access to key facilities, and expands urban infrastructure without addressing the essential connectivity networks — pathways, cycleways, and neighbourhood open spaces — needed to support a growing population.

Most concerning is the inclusion of multiple sites flagged for potential divestment, which contradicts the core purpose of long-term strategic planning: safeguarding land for future community needs. VCF is urging Council to defer adoption until a genuine, community-endorsed 30-year plan is developed.
